Calderdalecarshare.com has been set up jointly by HBOS plc and Calderdale Council. The success of this scheme relies on people logging onto the site and registering journeys; so please encourage others to do the same. It stands to reason that the greater the number of people using the site, the greater the chances of finding a match!

We also recommend that those people who have access to their employer's 'private group' also register on the public site. The scheme needs a critical mass of people registering in order to make it a success for everyone.

What is car sharing?

Car sharing is when two or more people share a car and travel together. It allows people to benefit from the convenience of the car, whilst alleviating the associated problems of congestion and pollution.

When can I share a car?

You can share a car for any journey - getting to work, doing the weekly shop, taking the children to school, going to the match at the weekend, travelling to a festival, event or show, getting to or from university, visiting friends or getting to the airport.
